I really don't know how to start this. My name is Simon and I am Alice's husband. I thought you all should know that Alice passed away suddenly in the early hours of Sunday morning. We are coping the best we can and the kids are dealing with it well, little Emi doesn't really understand and Adam is being incredibly brave. We are currently surrounded by family and friends and I guess in the long run we will be fine. This blog, the contacts Alice made across the world due to this blog and the 'secret pals' she took part in meant a great deal to her and helped her through some difficult times so thank you all, you meant a lot to her. She was one of a kind and I will always miss her very much.

Simon and family I just don't know where to begin.
I was chatting and laughing with Alice on Friday when I saw her at a class. She was excited about some new banana fibre that I had imported from Nepal and bought some from me. She had also bought me a tin of her Nan's wonderful flapjack as she often does when I see her and her mum. I have been enjoying it all weekend!
Love to you and your family and I can just see that textile angel jazzing up her wings with some funky yarns!

Simon, I am in shock! I am so, so sorry to read this news. I knew Alice first through the Online Guild, and was also a reader of her blog. I am so sorry for your loss. I know this must be a difficult time for you. My heartfelt prayers go out to with you and your little ones.

I can't believe that Alice is gone.
I have been corresponding with The Good Kharma Bunny for almost 2 years. We have sent emails to each other and packages back and forth. I was always amazed by her generosity of spirit and excitement for life.
My heart goes out to Simon, Adam and Emi in this incredibly difficult time. We will all miss Alice so much.
Alice was one of my "online friends" and although I didn't know her in person - I know she was an amazing woman. I will miss her. I am very sorry for your loss.

I was just thinking of Alice yesterday that I had to reply to her email she sent when she found out that my husband has bowel cancer and she sent me a lovely message.
I lost my first husband almost 17 years ago to a heart attack totally unexpectedly, so please believe me when I say that I know what you are going through, although it is no consolation at all to you, the children or your family. There is very little I can do from so far away, but if there is anything I can do please let me know.
I will always treasure the lovely gifts Alice sent me as my Secret Pal.

I have heard via the online guild about the tragic loss of Alice. I didn't know her personally, but I just want the family to know that there are a lot of people in the online guild of weavers spinners and dyers who have been thinking of her and of her young family, and husband.

I am so sorry to hear about this, Alice was an amazing woman. I was lucky enough to have met her both online and in person, I believe she really did exude good khama to everyone who knew her. It breaks my heart to think of her young family being left behind and I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. xx

Goodness Simon, just heard the sad news while blog reading this morning. While I did not know Alice, her blog would have been one I read through the Knitters Treat Exchange. My prayers and my thoughts are with you and your children at this time, and I will light a candle in memory of Alice.
I first met Alice when her son Adam started in my nursery class at School.
Alice was a parent who stood out because of her generosity, kindness and the amount of inspiration she had.
Alice would go out of her way every day to say 'morning' to all the staff.
I don't have many memories of Alice but the ones I do have I will remember her by.
My thoughts are with Simon, Adam, Emi and Family at this upsetting time.

She was such a lively and wonderful person, i was looking forward to talking to her at the spinners guild about how much she inspired me with her ply split class. She inspired so many more people through her life. we will all miss her and remember her fondly.
